About the event

Everyone has a story. Yet many aspiring writers struggle with where to begin, how to organize their experiences, or whether their life story is even worth telling. Memoir writing is more than documenting memories. It is the process of transforming lived experience into written art that preserves emotion, meaning, perspective, and human connection.

In this session, author Sonia Robinson shares her personal journey from aspiring writer to published memoirist, offering an honest and practical look at the process of writing her memoir over a five-month period. Just one year ago, Sonia attended the same writing summit searching for the courage, confidence, and practical guidance to begin writing her story. She left the conference and immediately started writing, spending weeks capturing memories, organizing narratives, refining tone, fact-checking personal experiences, navigating emotional vulnerability, working with editors and artists, and ultimately self-publishing her book.
